This is a downright disturbing story from Oregon.

We recently covered a story where a teacher at Judson Middle School in Salem, Oregon is currently under criminal investigation for allegedly sending a nude photograph to a student.

Another incident involving an Oregon teacher from a public school is also making the news, and the details of this incident is horrifying.

A fourth grade teacher at McMinnville School District was arrested Monday for attempted child rape.

Andrew Hammond, 50, is accused of “communicating with minors for immoral purposes” after an undercover sting operation caught him setting up a hotel meeting with what he thought was a 14-year-old girl.

Breitbart has the disturbing details:

Officials announced Monday the arrest of an Oregon elementary teacher “for communicating with minors for immoral purposes” and allegedly trying to rape a child.

Washington’s Redmond Police said detectives performed an undercover operation with decoy profiles on social media and dating apps to make contact with and meet the suspect in the case.

The operation initially began in October when Andrew Hammond, 50, was told he was chatting with a 14-year-old girl, and he eventually communicated with another Redmond detective, believing the person to be 13.

Journalist Andy Ngo shared details of the incident on Twitter:

The Post Millennial has more on the arrest:

Detectives in Redmond were posing as teenage girls on the app in October when Hammond began interacting with them, believing them to be teen girls. It was in March when Hammond rented a hotel room in Redmond where he intended to meet the girls for the purpose of sexual activity.

In his possession at the time were condoms, lubricant, handcuffs, and duct tape. These were discovered via a search warrant which was used to search Hammond’s vehicle.

Redmond detectives reported that the investigation that led to Hammond’s arrest as a “proactive undercover operation” and that the conversations between Hammond and the detectives, via false profiles, went on for several months after the initial October communication. Hammond was repeatedly notified that “he was communicating with a 14-year-old female.”

Detectives introduced a second false profile, of a 13-year-old girl, and Hammond “continued to engage in sexually motivated conversations with the investigators, believing they were minors.”

This is horrifying for parents.
