Democrats did everything they could to take Marjorie Taylor Greene out of the running this year. They even tried to have her removed from the ballot, using January 6th as an excuse.

It didn’t work and not only did Greene win, she beat five challengers.

The Hill reports:

Greene easily wins Georgia GOP primary

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene was projected to win the Republican primary in Georgia’s 14th Congressional District on Tuesday, fending off five GOP challengers.

ABC News, CNN and NBC News both called the race before 9 p.m. ET.

The victory, which was largely expected, is seen as a win for the most Trump-aligned faction of the GOP. Former President Trump endorsed Greene last month.

Last week, one of Greene’s allies in congress, Rep. Madison Cawthorn (N.C.), was ousted from his district in his own GOP primary after Republicans rallied to support one of his primary challengers, state Sen. Chuck Edwards (R).

Marjorie Taylor Greene wins GOP nod for 2nd term in Congress

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, who has made a name in Washington pushing hard-right conspiracy theories, easily won her party’s nomination for Congress on Tuesday. The Associated Press called the race just over an hour after polls closed. With 99% of the vote reported, Greene had 69% of the vote.

Voters picked Greene, commonly known by her initials, MTG, over her Republican challengers, including health care executive Jennifer Strahan. Strahan received 17% of the vote on Tuesday.

Greene will face off against a Democratic challenger in the heavily Republican 14th Congressional District, which includes the exurbs of Atlanta and a rural northwest swath of Georgia.

It must have really bothered NBC News to have to report this:

Tucker Carlson roasted the people who tried to keep her out of the race.

Congratulations to Greene.

She had to fight for this and she won.
