Iceland reported a shocking increase in stillbirths and neonatal deaths between 2020 and 2021.

“Stillbirths increased in 2021 by 8 from the previous year. In 2020, there were 9 stillbirths, but 17 in 2021. The number of stillbirths per 1,000 live births increased from 2.0 to 3.5 between years,” Frettin reported.
You need to look back to 2004 to get the same number as in 2021.
The average stillbirth per 1000 live children for the last nine years (2011-2020) is 2 per 1000. The increase is therefore 75% compared to the average of the last nine years before that.

The increase in perinatal mortality is 82% in 2021 compared to the average of the previous nine years before that. Perinatal death is the sum of stillbirths and children who die within a week of birth out of a total of 1,000 births.
Neonatal mortality is the mortality rate of children before 28 days (out of 1,000 live births), where the increase is similar, or about 81% compared to the average of the last nine years before that.
The number of deaths in the first year increases by 100% compared to the average of the previous nine years.

Canada and Scotland have also reported horrifying increases in stillbirths and neonatal deaths in recent months.
